Facebook will give information about security breach in WhatsApp on web page

With the rise in cyber security related incidents on its family app, Facebook has launched a new web page wherein WhatsApp will be informed of all incidents of vulnerabilities and breaches and how to fix them.  WhatsApp's new web page with security tips will let users and security researchers know when there has been a major security flaw in Facebook.

The page will contain detailed information about the WhatsApp security update and will also include common vulnerabilities and the Exposure System (CVE).

The WhatsApp Security Advisory 2020 provided information about six vulnerabilities that were found and corrected in its Android, desktop and video call service.

Facebook said, "We are extremely committed to transparency and this resource aims to help the wider technology community benefit from the latest technology in our security efforts."

The company continued, "We encourage all users to ensure that they keep their WhatsApp updated from their App Store and update their mobile operating system whenever an update is available."
